A safe and friendly AI learning companion for children.
NIMRAD AI Companion helps children learn by talking or typing in a simple, natural way. Kids choose a companion, pick English or Romanian, and ask questions about school, nature, science, numbers, words, and everyday life. The app replies with short, clear, child-friendly answers using voice and on-screen text.
Using the app is simple.
Choose a companion. Choose a language. Press Start learning!. Then press Talk now and ask a question, or use text when needed. The experience is designed to be easy, calm, and natural for children.
The app is made for children ages 6 to 12.
It uses simple words, short answers, and a warm teacher-like tone. It encourages curiosity, supports learning step by step, and keeps interactions clear, gentle, and age-appropriate.
This is one of the most important parts of the app.
If a child asks about sensitive topics such as war, drugs, violence, death, religion, sex, or other difficult subjects, the app is designed to respond in a neutral, educational, calm, and age-appropriate way. It does not take sides, does not try to persuade, does not provide graphic details, and does not use disturbing language. When appropriate, it gently encourages the child to continue the discussion with a parent, guardian, or teacher.
The app is also built with child-safe guardrails to avoid harmful, sexual, hateful, manipulative, or dangerous responses. If a question is not appropriate for a child, the app redirects it into a safer educational answer.
To give parents more visibility and peace of mind, additional safety features are planned:
At the end of each day, the app will send the parent a clear email summary of what the child asked, how the AI responded, and any questions or behavior patterns that may need attention.
If the app detects signs of possible imminent danger in the child's behavior or questions, the parent will be alerted in real time.
NIMRAD AI Companion is designed to be more than a chatbot.
It is a child-friendly learning experience built to support curiosity, safety, and trust, while also giving parents better awareness and protection.
